The province of Provinces:
The province of Provinces Yunnan is one of China’s 23 provinces, which are: Anhui, Fujian, Gansu, Guangdong, Guizhou , Hainan, Hebei , Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Jilin, Liaoning, Qinghai, Shaanxi , Shandong, Shanxi, Sichuan, Yunnan, Zhejiang, and Taiwan. People have different views on their favorite province, but Yunnan is undoubtedly first for beautiful scenery. Many varieties of food are offered in the southwest China area. The culture of Yunnan’s people is intriguing. In my opinion, this place is the best of the best, and is one you are about to learn about. So embark on this journey with me as we are informed about Yunnan!
Be a Scenery Tourist!:
Be a Scenery Tourist! Yunnan’s scenes truly make the province. The incredible splendor that nature can accomplish is truly astounding. Some especially exquisite sites include the Jade Dragon snow mountain in Lijiang , the scenery of Erhai lake in Dali, and the Stone F orest in Kunming. Jade Dragon snow mountain is a mountain massif near Lijiang with wonderful greenery coated hills. Erhai lake is an a lpine fault with islands to explore and great hiking opportunities along the shoreline. Erhai means “ear shaped sea” which is exactly what it is! The Stone Forest is known as the “first wonder of the world”. Located in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan, natural stone formations have awed people for centuries. These standing rocks are a must- see in Yunnan.
Be a taste tester!:
Be a taste tester! If you’re looking for a cuisine like no other, Yunnan is the place to be. Spicy food and mushrooms are prevalent in the diet of Yunnan's citizens. Although vegetables are a main course in many dishes, Yunnan is no vegetarian province. Chicken and ham as well as roast duck are specialties in restaurants. Pineapple rice is a favorite, with tofu and fresh string beans. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! At many restaurants the noodles are strained and stretched by the chefs right in front of you! Since the selection of meals is so varying, I would have a bite of everything! No matter what you chose to eat in China- I suggest you chose the Yunnan cuisine over McDonalds.
Be a people person!:
Be a people person! Citizens in Yunnan are unique, just like the rest of us. Their extravagant clothing and kind personalities are truly interesting. There are 24 diverse minority nationalities, constituting one third of the province's total population and one sixth of China's total minority population. They display their distinctive features, such as the massively diverse architecture, the flamboyant costumes and ornaments, the folk dances and songs have idyllic flavors and very interesting customs involving marriage. While many languages are spoken and written by the different minorities, Mandarin is the offical language. The Naxi of Lijiang practice a language that is equally as interesting but totally different from Chinese characters. Kunming in particular is home to many refugees from Vietnam. Many more call the border area close to Viet Nam home. This culture is very intriguing! I hope you have fun interacting with these wonderful people!
Did you have Fun?:
Did you have Fun? I know I did. I hope you travel to the wonderful province Yunnan yourself someday! You can experience the scenic attractions, delectable cuisine, and unique culture for yourself anytime!
