CeMaST Professional Development Grants FY 2009 : 

CeMaST Professional Development Grants support faculty involved in STEM teaching, learning and research in a variety of ways. Grants can be used to support new or ongoing research projects, travel to professional conferences or workshops, funding a guest speaker or event on campus, etc. Successful applicants (individuals or teams) can receive up to $5,000. Eligibility: All tenured and tenure-line faculty, full-time non-tenure track instructors, faculty associates, and AP staff with teaching responsibilities at Illinois State University are eligible as individual applicants or as a team. Applications are due February 27, 2009 Application Materials: Cover Page: project title, date, names, ranks, departments/schools/units, campus addresses, signature of all applicants . Abstract: brief (75-100 words) description of your project’s rationale, procedures, and goals Narrative: recommended length: 500-800 words, in-depth report on project Budget: estimated budget including: salary, contractual, and/or commodities expenses. Spend a Month in Russia! : 

The Center for Russian and East European Studies at the University of Michigan has applied for a Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad grant for this coming summer. The grant will cover most of the cost of a program that will include a full month in Russia. For FY09, the Research and Sponsored Programs Office has allocated $10,000 in matching funds from its portion of centrally distributed indirect funds to provide faculty with publication/exhibition support. The purpose of the support is to assist faculty in: obtaining reprints of their publications, defraying page publication costs, and defraying incidental costs associated with invited artistic performances or juried art exhibits (not to include travel, per diem, or lodging). NASSP Dissertation Competition : 

To recognize outstanding research at the middle and high school levels. Competitions are open to doctoral students who have successfully defended their dissertations between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008.
