Classification of Process Models : Classification of Process Models Classification by Coverage There are four (4) types of coverage where the term process model has been defined differently: Activity-oriented Product-oriented Decision-oriented Context-oriented Slide 6: Classification by Alignment Processes can be of different kinds. These definitions “correspond to the various ways in which a process can be modeled”. Strategic processes Tactical processes Implementation processes Slide 7: Classification by Granularity Granularity refers to the detail level of the process model and affects the kind of guidance, explanation and trace that can be provided. Classification by Flexibility Flexibility of Method construction approaches. It was found that while process models were prescriptive, in actual practice departures from the prescription can occur.
