Slide 1:The Greatest Show


Slide 2:The Beginning The pilot began with Rachel Green storming into Central Perk (the local coffee house) dressed in a wedding dress and looking very panicked. Monica Geller immediately recognized her as her best friend from high school. Monica introduced Rachel to the “gang” ? Joey, Chandler, Ross, and Phoebe. Rachel moved in with Monica who lives across the hall from Chandler and Joey. The audience finds out that Rachel did not want to marry Berry (her ex-boyfriend) so she ran off to the coffee house looking for Monica. The audience also learns that Ross has had a crush on Rachel since high school. The rest is history...


Slide 3:Jennifer Aniston “Rachel Green” FACTS ABOUT RACHEL: Rachel is a spoiled Daddy’s girl Rachel left her boyfriend at the alter and moved in with Monica Geller She worked at the coffee house but finally got a job at Ralph Lauren. Rachel had many boyfriends but none that compare to the wonderful Ross Geller. FACTS ABOUT JENNIFER: Jennifer grew up with a famous father – Victor Kiriakis from “Days of Our Lives.” Jennifer was asked to audition for the part of Monica but refused; she wanted to audition for Rachel Green. Jennifer is recently divorced from Brad Pitt and is currently dating Vince Vaughn.


Slide 4:David Schwimmer Ross Geller FACTS ABOUT ROSS: Ross is Monica’s older brother; he went to high school with Monica and Rachel and Chandler. Ross has been in love with Rachel since high school. Ross married his college sweetheart who turned out to be a lesbian; they had a son together – Ben. Ross and Rachel ended because he slept with another woman (don’t worry – they ended up together in the end.) FACTS ABOUT DAVID: David was the first one to be cast on Friends. David graduated from Northwestern University. David co-founded Chicago’s Looking Glass Theatre Company.


Slide 5:Matthew Perry Chandler Bing FACTS ABOUT MATTHEW: Matthew was a top ranked junior tennis player in Canada. He began his career on the television show “Second Chance.” Perry has also starred in “The Whole Nine Yards,” “Fools Rush In,” and “Three to Tango.” FACTS ABOUT CHANDLER: Chandler was commitment-phobic before he met Monica. Chandler dated Janice who is famous for her nasal voice and her “Oh...My...God...” comments. Chandler is the most sarcastic of the friends. Chandler and Ross are friends from college. Chandler and Joey lived together across from Monica before he got married.


Slide 6:Matt LeBlanc Joey Tribiani FACTS ABOUT JOEY: Joey is half-Italian and has 7 sisters and loves sandwiches. Joey plays an actor on the show – Dr. Drake Ramoray on “Days of Our Lives.” Joey loves women. His famous line to women is “How you doin’?” Joey had a crush on Rachel for the longest time. They tried dating but it got too weird for both of them and Ross. FACTS ABOUT MATT: Before Friends, Matt was a model and appeared in commercials for Levi’s and Coke. Matt was educated in carpentry before beginning his acting career. In 2000, Matt was named one of People’s 50 Most Beautiful People.


Slide 7:Courtney Cox Monica Geller FACTS ABOUT MONICA: Monica is a neat-freak that lives in her late grandmother’s apartment with Rachel. When her and Chandler got serious, Rachel moved out. Monica is a chef at a restaurant called Alessandro’s. Before Chandler, Monica was in a serious relationship with an older man – Richard. Monica and Chandler adopt twins in the last episode of the series and move to the suburbs. FACTS ABOUT COURTNEY: Courtney is married to David Arquette. Courtney appeared in “As The World Turns,” “Family Ties,” and the infamous Bruce Springsteen video “Dancing in the Dark,” and “Scream.” Courtney and David have one daughter – Coco.


Slide 8:Lisa Kudrow Phoebe Buffay FACTS ABOUT PHOEBE: Phoebe creates her own music on her guitar and often played at Central Perk for her friends. She is most known for her “Smelly Cat” song. She has a twin sister named Ursula but they don’t have contact; however, Joey dated her briefly on the show. Phoebe used to live with Monica but she moved out because Monica was too anal. Phoebe used to mug people when she lived on the streets. FACTS ABOUT PHOEBE: Lisa appeared in “Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion.” Lisa was also chosen as People’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1997. Lisa originally played Ursula on “Mad About You.” Before acting, Lisa was a medical researcher.


Slide 9:The show ended exactly the way I wanted to... Monica and Chandler adopted 2 twin babies because Monica was unable to have children. They named the girl Erica after the birth mother and the boy was named Jack after Monica’s dad. Rachel had a job offer in Paris and was ready to go; she got all the way to the airport before Ross realized he was in love with her and he did not want her to leave. Ross chased her to the airport but Rachel got on the plane anyway. When Ross returned to his apartment, there was a message from Rachel apologizing and she told Ross she loved him too. Then Rachel appears in his doorway because she got off the plane! Monica and Chandler move out of their apartment into a house. The show’s final scene was everyone leaving their keys to the apartment on the kitchen counter. Monica’s apartment was the main scene of the show. The End


Slide 10:Favorite Quotes and Moments “...It’s always been you Rach’...” -Ross “You’re over me? When were you under me?” –Ross (This is after Ross listens to a drunk message from Rachel stating that she is over Ross romantically.) “My name is Chandler...could I be wearing anymore clothes?!” –Joey (This is when Chandler sat in Joey’s chair and wouldn’t get up so Joey put on every piece of clothing Chandler owns.) “Smelly cat, smelly catWhat are they feeding you?Smelly cat, smelly catIt's not your fault.” – Phoebe’s famous song “How you doin’? – Joey “My mom used to stick her head in the oven. Actually she only did it the once, but it was pretty weird.” – Pheobe “I grew up in a house with Monica, okay! If you didn't eat fast, you didn't eat!” – Ross (explaining his fast eating habits to Rachel) “...And we’re done with the chicken fried rice..” –Chandler (after seeing a naked fat man outside) “I got off the plane...”


Slide 11:About The Creator (me) My name is Cristina Buffone and I am a 19 year old sophomore at North Georgia College and State University. I am a first year nursing student and I plan on getting my BSN here at NGCSU also. This picture is of my father and me this past summer. I created this power point about Friends because it is the greatest show ever to have been created. I am obsessed and I could probably say almost every line from every episode. I cried when Friends was canceled. I’m just happy Ross and Rachel got their act together and ended up happily ever after. Check out my web page!!!!
