TRAINING SEMINAR ON POWER ELECTRONICS:

TRAINING SEMINAR ON POWER ELECTRONICS SUBMITTED BY: SHASHI KANT ROLL NO.- 2309386

POWER ELECTRONICS:

POWER ELECTRONICS Power electronics is the application of solid-state electronics for the control and conversion of electric power.

INTRODUCTION TO THYRISTOR FAMILY:

INTRODUCTION TO THYRISTOR FAMILY What is Thyristor? Which are Thyristor Devices?

THYRISTOR DEVICES:

THYRISTOR DEVICES Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) Diode For Alternating Current (DIAC) Triode for Alternating Current (TRIAC) Unijunction Transistor (UJT) Gate Turn-off Thyristor (GTO)

SILICON-CONTROLLED RECTIFIER:

SILICON-CONTROLLED RECTIFIER Symbol Of SCR Construction of SCR Planar construction Mesa construction Hockey-puck and presspack SCR symbol Construction of SCR

SILICON-CONTROLLED RECTIFIER:

SILICON-CONTROLLED RECTIFIER Working of SCR Applications SCRs are mainly used in devices where the control of high power, possibly coupled with high voltage, is demanded. Their operation makes them suitable for use in medium to high-voltage AC power control applications, such as lamp dimming and motor control.

DIODE FOR ALTERNATING CURRENT (DIAC):

DIODE FOR ALTERNATING CURRENT (DIAC) Introduction Construction Working Applications Symbol of DIAC Practical DIAC DIAC is mainly used for triggering of TRIAC. It is used for Triac Lamp Dimmer Circuit. It is used in Heat control Circuit Using Thyristors. Construction

TRIODE FOR ALTERNATING CURRENT (TRIAC):

TRIODE FOR ALTERNATING CURRENT (TRIAC) Introduction Construction Working Applications Symbol Construction Practical TRIAC High Power Lamp Switching. AC power Control.

UNIJUNCTION TRANSISTOR (UJT) :

UNIJUNCTION TRANSISTOR (UJT) Introduction Construction Working Applications Symbol Construction Practical UJT Relaxation Oscillator Triggering of Thyristors(SCR).

GATE TURN-OFF THYRISTOR (GTO):

GATE TURN-OFF THYRISTOR (GTO) Introduction Construction Working Applications Symbol Construction Practical GTO Speed Motor Drives PWM Converter Filter Circuit

CONTROLLED RECTIFIERS:

CONTROLLED RECTIFIERS Three-phase full-wave rectifier(Fully Controlled) It converts the whole cycle(+ve and –ve) of input voltage in to dc voltage. It is fully controlled full wave rectifier due to all rectification is done by SCRs. When diodes are used then it is referred as half controlled rectifier.

Slide 12:

Three-phase full-wave rectifier(Fully Controlled) It converts only one cycle(+ ve or – ve ) of input voltage in to dc voltage. It is fully controlled half wave rectifier due to all rectification is done by SCRs.

Slide 13:

Three-phase full-wave rectifier(Fully Controlled) It converts only one cycle(+ ve or – ve ) of input voltage in to dc voltage. It is fully controlled half wave rectifier due to all rectification is done by SCRs.
