On January 15th, 2008, twenty-two students from LSSU came together to participate in the annual Firefighter I & II class put on by Lake State’s Fire Science program. They soon realized that this would be an unforgettable semester….

In order to complete their firefighter I & II course, students must show competency in a variety of firefighting skills. These include the following: Search and Rescue Ventilation Forcible Entry Trapped/Disoriented Drills Ladders Scene Lighting Small Engines Ropes, Knots and Hoisting Fire Hose and appliances SCBA Donning SCBA Inspection Water Supply Fire Extinguishers
