Slide 9:

Family Health History My family is actually the first of my family to come to America. We were fortunate enough to win green cards in a lottery held by the immigration offices. After we won, we decided to move here because it was known as the “ Land of Opportunities ” .

Slide 10:

Family Health History Diabetes and cancer are the two major killers that appear in my family ’ s health history. My great-grandfather, grandmother, and father all have diabetes. However, it appears during their adulthoods. Cancer is especially apparent in my mother ’ s side of the family. My grandfather failed in his fight against cancer, and now, my uncle has cancer. I do not appear to have any of these diseases, but I think it will appear as I grow older.

Slide 12:

Fitness Data and Nutrition Studying Per Night 5 hours I usually work from 6pm-1am on a regular school night, so this number of hours I spend on school work implies that I spend 2 hours on facebook, YouTube, or other activities. I feel I have to stay up late to make up for the time I have spent doing non-academic activities. If I do not do these unnecessary activities, I would be able to go to bed early. Even though I stay up late, I shove a great of amount of information in my brain, but my brain does not fully absorb it because I am usually sleepy.

Slide 13:

Fitness Data and Nutrition Sleep per Night 5 hours At my age, I need between 7-9 hours of sleep her night. Comparing to the amount of sleep I get, I am 2-4 hours less than I should be getting. School work usually interferes with my sleep schedule, so I must finish school work early. Sleep is an important aspect to properly function during the day, especially at school. Getting the right amount of sleep will allow one to concentrate and do well in school.

Slide 14:

Fitness Data and Nutrition TV Watching: 4 hours Computer Use: 4 hours Phone Use Per Night: 3 hours Total: 11 hours If I did not own a TV, phone or the computer, I would spend more time outdoors or read books. I think the amount I spend with technology is unacceptable because it is just a waste of time. I spend almost half the day with technology where I can do more active things. I feel people are so absorbed in technology that they are unable to go out and experience life more. The outside world is much more exciting than shutting oneself inside.

All three of these criteria all balance and intertwine with each other.. If you are mentally and emotionally unstable, it prevents you from living a pleasant social and physical life. For example, people will think you are odd. Also, if you have a distorted body image about yourself, you may result to anorexia, thus, endangering the physical side of you.

Unique Self:

Unique Self It doesn't matter if you love him, Or capital H-I-M Just put your paws up 'cause you were born this way, baby My mama told me when I was young We are all born superstars She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on In the glass of her boudoir "there's nothin wrong with lovin who you are" Shehold your head up girl and you'll go far, Listen to me when I say" I'm beautiful in my way 'cause god makes no mistakes I'm on the right track baby I was born this way Don't hide yourself in regret Just love yourself and you're set I'm on the right track baby I was born this way [Ooo there ain't no other way Baby I was born this way Baby I was born this way Ooo there ain't no other way Baby I was born- I'm on the right track baby said, "'cause he made you perfect, babe" "so I was born this way Don't be a drag - just be a queen Don't be a drag - just be a queen Don't be a drag - just be a queen Don't be! Give yourself prudence And love your friends Subway kid, rejoice your truth In the religion of the insecure I must be myself, respect my youth A different lover is not a sin Believe capital h-i-m (hey hey hey) I love my life I love this record and Mi amore vole fe yah (love needs faith) I’m beautiful in my way ‘cause god makes no mistakes I’m on the right track baby I was born this way Don’t hide yourself in regret Just love yourself and you’re set I’m on the right track baby I was born this way Ooo there ain’t no other way Baby I was born this way Baby I was born this way Don’t be a drag, just be a queen Whether you’re broke or evergreen You’re black, white, beige, chola, descent You’re lebanese, you’re orient Whether life’s disabilities Left you outcast, bullied, or teased Rejoice and love yourself today ‘cause baby you were born this way No matter gay, straight, or bi Lesbian, transgendered life I’m on the right track baby I was born to survive I chose Lady Gaga’s Born This Way because I am a strong believer in the existentialist thinking. I believe that no matter who we are we should be the people to set our own paths. We should ignore the stereotypical society and their judgments because we are “born this way”, and nothing we can do can change it. I love being quirky and crazy rather than reserved or “normal” because I do not care what others may think of me. They can think whatever they want of me, but their words will not touch me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV1FrqwZyKw

Future Aspirations:

Future Aspirations This year I had the pleasure of taking a master class with Mia Michaels, my dance idol. She taught me to really love who I am because I am the master of my world. Nobody else’s words can penetrate my world and make who I am. I am responsible to myself, and I should not be afraid of it. Her words not only made me a better dancer but a better human being. From then on, I took her wisdom and applied it to myself. I had much more self-confidence, and I tried things that I have never done before. That class impacted me so much, and I will never forget what a great person Mia Michaels is.

Slide 21:

Future Aspirations Dear Mia, Thank you so much for your words of wisdom during your amazing master class. I have learned so much from you. After that class, I felt like a changed person. You said that we ourselves are the masters of this world, and we are all individually beautiful and powerful. I used to be afraid when I dance, but now, I am not afraid to take risks. You have changed me not only as a dancer but as a person also. Thank you, Tzu-Ning Liu

Slide 22:

Future Aspirations In 3 years, I see myself in a 4 year university, studying to become a doctor, biological engineer, or medical researcher. In 5 years, I see myself in graduate school still pursuing to do something in the biological or medical field. In 10 years, I see myself working as a scientist and travel the world to help the third world countries from their horrid conditions. I am going to settle down and start a family when I feel like I have reached my full potential in pursuing my dreams. If I could accomplish one thing in my life, it would be to influence the world.

Media Awareness:

Media Awareness The media is a dangerous element in this world. It influences the viewers to only look at the stereotypical or more “accepted” side of society even if most of the things the present are untrue. However, some people do try to imitate what they see on TV, magazines, and other forms of media. The media influenced me in clothing, activities, and music. My clothes are mostly what is “in” at the current time. For example, when the TV argued that gauchos are out, I immediately stopped wearing them even if they are the most comfortable pants. My choice of music usually comes from movies, TV, and the most respected artist. If the media says “Thriller” is the hottest song now, I, personally, might download it. Finally, dance is probably the most influenced activity by the media. In the show, So You Think You Can Dance , every dancer on there are beautiful and skinny. Dancers who aspire to be on the show will believe that they only accept beautiful and skinny dancers. I try to prevent the media from getting to me, but since I am surrounded by it, it can be hard to avoid it. I want to be a special individual. I do not want the media and stereotypes to shape who I am. If everyone in this world was based off of the stereotypical image, then it will be one boring planet.
