Introduction:

Introduction Network- A network is the group of interconnected computer which are able to share the resources to form the network at least two computer required ,the connection type may be copper wire ,fiber-optics, microwaves , infrared and communication satellites can also be used .networks come I many sizes, shapes and form . Network can be divided in according to geographical area such as- LAN,MAN,WAN

USES OF COMPUTER N/W:

USES OF COMPUTER N/W

Application :

Application Business application – in a company many times we have to use printer or data ,so if we create a network then anyone can share the same data ,. Home application –n/w can also be used in home e.g.,to turn off T.V. we require a remote ,to exchange data between mobile we require bluetooth , Mobile application

TYPES OF CONNECTIVITY:

TYPES OF CONNECTIVITY These are two types of connectivity 1)Logical connectivity 2)Physical connectivity 1)Logical connectivity again divided into three types LAN (local area network) MAN(metropolitan area network) WAN(wide area network)

LAN (LOCAL AREA N/W):

LAN (LOCAL AREA N/W) LAN- local area network generally called as LAN,it’s range is few kilometer so it is generally used for small n/w like for a campus ,university. they are widely used to connect personal computer or workstation ,in a company or factories to share information and exchange information . Traditional LANs run at speed of 10-100 mbps . Various topologies are possible for broadcast LAN.

MAN(metropolitan area n/w):

MAN (metropolitan area n/w) MAN- it is also called as metropolitan area n/w. A metropolitan area n/w or MAN ,covers a city .the best known example of MAN is the cable television n/w available in many cities

WAN(wide area network):

WAN (wide area network) A wide area network or WAN ,covers a large geographical area ,it can also covers a whole country .

The below fig. describe the various n/w according to geographical area. :

Physical connectivity :

Physical connectivity Physical connectivity - Physical connectivity is a manner by which each and every system is connected . These are five type of connectivity. Bus Ring Star Mash Hybrid
