WELCOME TO THE ASSIGNMENT OF AVIATION- :

WELCOME TO THE ASSIGNMENT OF AVIATION- NAME- POOJA JAISWAL BATCH- B-1 ASSESOR NAME- Ms. MALTI DURGAM

P1a- The development of the aviation industry- :

P1a- The development of the aviation industry- Low cost Airlines- The development of the aviation industry the low cost airlines has effected the development of aviation sector but in a positive way. Earlier traveling in airlines was a dream for many but after wallet friendly airlines came, it made it easy for the middle class to travel to skies. Low cost air line made the industry more popularized. Naturally this is one of the reason for development of aviation industry.Globalization is another factor

Slide 3:

Low cost airlines are the need of the day - gone are the days when you had to pay exorbitant airfares to fly from city to city. There should be more budget airlines, so that companies who claim to be full fare carriers are kept in check. They charge a bomb on the excuse that they provide meals & other allied services. It is a pity they are unable to adjust to the new environment & provide a good deal to their old frequent fliers. We were exploited previously. Regarding development of the industry - it will develop regardless of high or low fares. Where there is a will there is a way. I see no way in which you can justify higher fares in the name of development of aviation. Airlines had a Monopoly for so many years yet Jet or Indian were in no way able to develop the aviation industry despite having higher fares. No one benefited only airline companies who are now longing to see those old days again.

Slide 4:

Increased number of domestic airlines- India has one of the fastest growing rates for aviation. With more domestic airlines entering the market, it increases competition and lowers ticket prices. An increase in travel also helps the airport collect more in landing fees and gate rentals thereby allowing the airport to make upgrades and have the airport look nicer and newer. I also think more airlines are being formed as India is becoming a richer nation. Many corporations are moving in and hiring people from India so the people's standard of living has started to improve. That allows them to have more money to spend and therefore more people are starting to fly to different cities. With the many low-cost airlines India has, it has made air travel affordable to more people.

Slide 5:

India’s improving economy- I think that more than economic development, it has been the government's "Open Sky" policy which has fuelled the development of the aviation industry in India. Opening the Indian airspace to private airlines operators has resulted in competitive pricing of air fares which was a dream when Indian Airlines had a monopoly over Indian air transportation. The competition has in turn led to a sharp drop in air fares as offered by several low cost, no frills airlines, notably Deccan. Flying no longer burns a big hole in the common man's pockets as it has come very close to long distance rail fares in AC classes. Hence more and more people are opting for air travel as the fares are within their ability to spend and the time taken is a fraction of what it takes by rail. The easy availability of tickets by various means such as internet makes for lesser hassles. And to top it all, there are various add ones like Frequent Flier Offers and Lowest Price etc. which makes the common man's flying dreams come true

P1b- Aircraft and its communication systems- :

P1b- Aircraft and its communication systems- Cabin interphone system- In the aircraft it’s near every door, crew rest area use for receive call from all point. Passenger address system- This system used to making announcements, and give the information to the passengers regarding the flight. Passenger call system- Its used for call the cabin crew & its present on the overhead PSU or on the armrest of every seat .

Slide 7:

Lavatory call system- A call for cabin crew and the switch located near the washbasin in each lavatory. Passenger signs- The ‘NO SMOKING’, ‘FASTEN SEAT BELT’ are the two main signs that should be seen from every passenger seat.

Slide 8:

Three external parts of aircraft- 1- Fuselage- Fuselage is the main body of an air craft. Its central body portion of a plane designed to carry fuel, passengers, freight & mail. 2- Cockpit- Cockpit is the part of the aircraft that houses the pilot and aircraft controls. 3-Wings- The part of the plane that provide lift and support the weight of the plane, its passengers, crew and cargo while the plane is in flight.

Slide 9:

Slide 10:

P2a- Attributes required by the cabin crew to carry out their role- A cabin crew should have the following ideal qualities: a. Dedication to detailsb. Assertivenessc. Adaptabilityd. Cross Cultural Understanding/Sensitivitye. Organizedf. Rule orientedg. Good listening skillsh. Stable Emotioni. Disciplinej. Friendlinessk. Humble dispositionl. Honestym. Sincerityn. Warm personalityo. Approachabilityg. Sense of humor

P3b- Special requirement to handling of the concerned passenger- :

P3b- Special requirement to handling of the concerned passenger- VVIP- These type of passengers are boarded last and deplaned first at the destination and give extra security accompanies the flights in which these passengers are traveling. Special menus, extra crew are provide sometimes on these flights. Like- Presidents & Vice-presidents Prime minister Cabinet minister Royal visitors & members of Royal families.

P4a-Three emergency equipments on board- :

P4a-Three emergency equipments on board- 1- Fire extinguisher- Its used for fighting the fire on board the aircraft. Use for fire fighting Hold the tank upright Squeeze the handles together Aim at base of the fire Spray in a sweeping motion Stand at a safe distance Will last for approximately.

Slide 13:

2- Loudhailer/Megaphone- Its used for any emergency. Used for guiding passengers away from the aircraft after an evacuation. Used as a signaling aid to attract search and rescue teams. 3- First Aid Kit- Its used in minor cases of injury or an emergency. Used for medical purposes Contain medical items for treatment.

P4b- Emergency situations on board- :

P4b- Emergency situations on board- Ditching- If the aircraft is unable to reach land, then it will have to make an emergency landing bon water which is known as ditching. A water landing is, in the broadest sense, any landing on a body of water. All waterfowl, those seabirds capable of flight, and some human-built vehicles are capable of landing in water as a matter of course. The phrase "water landing" is also used as a euphemism for crash-landing into water in an aircraft not designed for the purpose. An intentional water landing during distress, but under controlled flight, is called ditching. Such water landings are somewhat common for small craft in general aviation and the military, but they are extremely rare for commercial passenger airlines

[M]- Current Scenario- :

[M]- Current Scenario- The Airbus A300 is a short- to medium-range widebody aircraft. Launched in 1972 as the world's first twin-engined widebody, it was the first product of the Airbus consortium of European aerospace companies, wholly owned today by EADS. The A300 ceased production in July 2007, along with the smaller A310. Freighter sales for which the A300 competed are to be fulfilled by a new A330-200F derivative.[1] AIRBUS A-300

Slide 18:

The Airbus A300 is an airplane that is considerably smaller than the A380, holds way less seats, has analogue displays and guages whereas the A380 has a fly by wire system, and all guages and components of the aircraft are shown on computer like screens known as Multi-Function display screens or MFD'sthere are two differences out of many more between the Airbus A380 and the A300

AIRBUS A-380 :

AIRBUS A-380 The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine airliner manufactured by the European corporation Airbus, an EADS subsidiary. The largest passenger airliner in the world, the A380 made its maiden flight on 27 April 2005 from Toulouse, France,[3] and made its first commercial flight on 25 October 2007 from Singapore to Sydney with Singapore Airlines. The aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX during much of its development phase, but the nickname Superjumbo has since become associated with it.

Slide 21:

The A380 is currently the worlds largest passenger jet, It was much more recently build than the A300, As far size is concerned with the as the A300 and the A380 , Its a bit like comparing a Mini Cooper to a tank, There is a massive size difference, The A300 is slowly going out of service and being replaced by the A330 and the A321 The A380 is also much more up to date and contains more advanced technology than the A300, for example. The A300 has 1 LCD display per pilot and requires 3 pilots to operate, The A380 is about 5 times bigger than the A300 and only needs 2 pilots who are aided by no less than 9 LCD multifunction displays in the cockpit and the worlds most advanced aircraft systems operations computer.

The current growth rate in domestic and international travel exceeds 25%, the highest in the world. In the period April-September 2006, the total aircraft movements witnessed an increase of 29.6% year-on-year to 494.92 thousand aircraft movements, as compared to 318.89 thousand during April-September 2005. :

Advantage: real cuts in capacity and hopefully the elimination of uncompetitive airlines can ensure the long-term viability of the survivors.Disadvantage: mad scramble to cover the fuel costs through fees and surcharges while reducing pax service causes bad will that will be difficult to overcome.5 months ago [D]- Advantage and Disadvantage-

Slide 24:

Advantages: (a) Growth opportunities for pilots, service sectors.(b) More fat salary packets.(c) Everyone can afford to fly.(d) Better international airports are coming up.(This is while the inflation is under control and oil prices remain same...currently its 120US$/barrel; earlier was around US$65-70) Disadvantages: (As soon as the oil prices increase, inflation rate moves up)(a) All new pilots will find themselves on the road. All new pilots under training will loose all their money spent by them on their training.(b) All big airlines will have to merge with each other to make profits.(c) Air tickets will not be affordable.(d) No new aircrafts will be purchased. As a result, US & European manufacturers will also suffer. It will affect them also.

Slide 25:

Disadvantages:-1) Overbooking of flights2) Very expensive3) Get charged extra for baggage4) Long lines for security5) Safety record gets worse and worse6) The airlines not only do not cater to the wishes of their customers, they actually tick them off Advantage:-1) You can get where you want to go some of the time Other Advantage and Disadvantage-
