Finding percents:

5. 17 / 33 = 51.5 / 100 = 51.5% Finding percents Example: What percent of 33 is 17? 1. 17 / 33 = x / 100 2. 100 ÷ 33 = 3.03, in other words: 33 × 3.03 = 100 3. 17 × 3.03 = 51.5 4. x = 51.5

Answers:

Answers 597.6% 105 is 10.5 % of 1000. 77%

Finding numbers:

Finding numbers 15 / 100 = x / 40 100 ÷ 40 = 2.5, in other words: 100 ÷ 2.5 = 40 15 ÷ 2.5 = 6 x = 6 15 / 100 = 6 / 40 therefore 6 is 15% of 40 Example: What is 15% of 40?

Practice 85% of c is 5. What is c ? Find 210% of 25. What is 5% of 93?

**Rules to remember** A fraction with a denominator of 100 is the same as a percent (ex. 20 / 100 = 20%) If a fraction has a numerator that is greater than the denominator, the percent will always be greater than 100% If you want to convert a decimal into a percent, all you have to do is divide by 100, or move the decimal point 2 spaces to the left
