Cyber-bullying is "the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others". [1] Cyberbullying can involve the internet, mobile phones, email and in particular via the internet through social networking sites such as Facebook , MySpace and Twitter It has increased significantly over the years because of increased reliance on digital communication Statistics from the Waitt Institute for Violence Prevention show that one in three employees personally experiences bullying at some point in their working lives Workplace bullying can be defined as repeated behaviour that offends, humilitates , sabotages, intimidates or negatively affects someone's work and work behaviour

Where can cyberbullying occur? Cyberbullying can occur in the home, workplace and anywhere people can contact another person via communication technologies In this presentation we will focus on the cyberbullying that can occur in the workplace

The effects of cyberbullying on individuals and the workplace It can make the person feel lonely and unwanted by certain individuals It can affect a persons morale and confidence levels in the workplace hindering them in work and outside life The person may not want to go to work therefore impacting the way the business is run The person may feel they have no one to speak to in the workplace The person may feel under pressure therefore there productivity and efficiency levels will decrease impacting the overall performance of the business It can impact the workplace environment because it can make it a hostile and uneasy environment for all people to work If a work environment is to be a succesful and happy environment then cyberbullying must be eliminated
