The current first lady graduated from Princeton in 1985 then from Harvard Law School in 1988. Her father was a city pump operator and a democratic precinct captain, her mother was Spiegel secretary who eventually stayed home to raise both her children. After graduating Harvard Michelle joined the Chicago law firm Sidley & Austin where she met her husband.
