Period examples: Fossil Energy (petrol renewable period millions of years) Trees Energy (wood renewable period 10 years) Solar energy (heat or electricity renewable daily) the Energy that is naturally renewed within a short period of time with respect of the human being age. Why do we look for the Renewable Energy? : Why do we look for the Renewable Energy? 1- It Saves Money and thus economic. 2- It is clean and thus saves the environment. 3- It is renewable so always available. 4- It is everywhere so no need to big networks. 5- No gas emission so less Climate Exchange Where do we get the Renewable Energy? : Where do we get the Renewable Energy? Slide 5: Tidal Energy Geothermal Energy : Geothermal Energy Slide 7: Hydropower Energy Biomass Energy : Biomass Energy Wind Energy : Wind Energy Slide 10: Wind Energy Slide 11: Photovoltaic Cells Slide 12: Can be considered as renewable Energy if well managed. Trees Thermal Energy Slide 13: How Can we benefit from these renewable energies in Lebanon??? -Wind Farms for electricity generation in Areas where wind speed exceeds 10 km/hr (Hills) -Wind Energy for well water pumping. -Biogas from Solid wastes (Landfills) -Hydropower from Dams. -Solar Heating energy (very promising) -Solar Electrical Energy (expensive) - Trees wood Energy needs large areas (profitable on low scale) Impacts of well use of renewable energy : Impacts of well use of renewable energy 1- Reduction of 20% of the electrical Bill. 2- Reduction of 25% of the Environment degradation. 3- Reduction of 15% of the national Health Bill 4- Reduction of the climate Change. 5- Reduction of the global warming effect.
