Proposed System Developments 2007/08: Proposed System Developments 2007/08 Improve the usability of the system Split the main online module enrolment web page into separate web pages appropriate to each step of the online module enrolment process and integrate this more closely with the confirmation of module enrolment process (cf Online Registration process): for example Step 1 Check compulsory modules Step 2 Check personalised timetable of compulsory modules Step 3 Choose optional modules Step 4 Choose elective modules Step 5 View registered modules Step 6 Link to Confirmation of Module Enrolment formProposed System Developments 2007/08: Proposed System Developments 2007/08 Improve the usability of the system (continued) Display a flag against each module listed online for which restrictions apply (e.g. pre-requisite qualifications, pre-requisite modules, co-requisite modules, mutually exclusive modules etc). The source of this information will be appropriate data fields within the Module Catalogue Insert a horizontal line between the lists of modules displayed to separate semester 1, semester 2 and semester 1&2 modules from each other Proposed System Developments 2007/08: Proposed System Developments 2007/08 Enhance the checking of compliance of students’ module choices with programme of study rules Modify the Module Catalogue to capture module restriction rules and do not allow students to choose modules that break these rules (e.g. pre-requisites, co-requisites, mutually exclusive, no more than 70/50 credit splits across semesters etc) Develop additional web pages that are displayed if a student chooses a module(s) that does not comply with their programme of study requirements or has restrictions. The page would display a declaration statement enabling a student to confirm and submit their choice Improve the monitoring processes and tools available to schools (e.g. email alerts, workflow for reporting on non-compliance of module and programme rules, enhancements to Banner reports, enhancements to online confirmation of module enrolment process Proposed System Developments 2007/08: Proposed System Developments 2007/08 Enhance existing systems relating to the online module enrolment system Develop a generic module preferencing system if possible Enhance the Language Filtration System following staff and student feedback Feedback and Questions: Feedback and Questions ?Next Steps: Next Steps Focus group meetings (August/September 2007) to define the enhancements in greater detail and to produce detailed specifications Welcome representatives from schools to ensure that developments are fit for purpose If interested, contact Alice Hornostaj (a.j.a.hornostaj@adm.leeds.ac.uk) You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
