Hematuria Hematuria is the medical term used to refer to a condition in which a person
passes blood with his/her urine. If substantial amount of blood discharge
occurs during urination on a regular basis, it may be indicative of a problem
relating to the urinary tract. Even cancer and internal injuries caused by an
accident or strenuous exercise may be the cause behind the discharge of
blood with urine.
Only a medical test conducted at a pathological laboratory can help diagnose
the exact problem that is responsible for this condition. The common
reasons behind hematuria are formation of kidney stones, lower urinary tract
infections, bladder infections and inflammation of the prostate gland. In
minor cases, the presence of red blood cells in the urine can be detected only
under a microscope, whereas in more serious cases, blood can be seen in
the urine with the naked eye. Symptoms like nausea, vomiting, back pain,
mild fever and sudden weight loss may also be present in severe cases.

Home Remedies And Treatment For Hematuria
You may follow a few simple home remedies as an interim measure to prevent
the condition from turning serious. The juice of bitter gourd has the natural
property of curing urinary tract infections and expelling toxins from the body.
It is also useful to crush a handful of the leaves and pods of drumsticks
together and consume this extract every day. For another remedy, mash white
pumpkin, mix it with a cup of sugarcane juice and drink this mixture every
morning.
The juice of pomegranates is also known to be an effective natural agent that
cleanses the kidneys and the urinary tract. Another extremely popular remedy
for such problems is to drink a small cup of cranberry juice every morning at
breakfast. Alternatively, you may also drink a cup of the juice extracted from
radish leaves every morning for two weeks.
If the problem is caused due to an infection of the bladder, a mixture of spinach
juice and fresh coconut water may also be useful. Drinking lemon tea regularly
is also known to solve the problem in such cases. Drinking warm soup made
by boiling green bananas in a pot of water could also stop the passage of blood
with urine. In addition, stop smoking and drinking while the problem persists.
Also, avoid oily and spicy foodstuff. Desist from sexual activity till the condition is completely cured.

The urinary tract consists of the following structures:
* Kidneys : You have two kidneys, located closer to your back than your front
at about waist level. The kidneys filter the blood in your body and produce
urine.
* Ureters : These narrow, hollow tubes carry urine from the kidneys to the
bladder.
* Bladder : The bladder is a balloon-like organ that holds urine until it is
convenient for you to empty your bladder (urinate).
* Urethra : This narrow, hollow tube carries urine from the bladder to the
outside of your body. The flow of urine is controlled by internal and external
sphincter muscles, which tighten or relax around the urethra, holding or
releasing urine.
