Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: CPS Chalkboard Mode – Instant Classroom Interactivity Slide 2: Opening Chalkboard Mode In the CPS main screen, select the “Engage” tab. Click on the “Engage- Verbal” Box. Slide 3: Verbal Question Set-up Several different checkboxes or dropdown windows are available to select. In these, you can: - name the session, - select the type of session and class, - include the results in your Gradebook, - export them to an Excel file. Slide 4: Verbal Mode Task Bar Choose a verbal type question Choose delivery methods Exit the CPS program Choose a chalkboard question Select students randomly Close this question session Slide 5: Changing the Delivery Options There are a number of options to choose from: how to set up the question screen to the type of information shown as the students respond. Slide 6: Engaging a Chalkboard Question Click the “Chalkboard” Box The blank chalkboard screen will appear. Slide 7: Engaging a Chalkboard Question In the upper left corner are the writing tools: pencil eraser delete tool for clearing the screen line tool for drawing straight lines or shapes line color line width Slide 8: Engaging a Chalkboard Question The teacher writes or draws the question on the screen, chooses the response format and Clicks “Start”… The students respond just as they do as if the question were posed verbally. Slide 9: Engaging a Chalkboard Question The teacher can also: write the answer choices click on the “Answers” box and type in the choices when the answer grid appears at the bottom OR Slide 10: To use an image as a question, click “Import Image” and browse for any image you want. Select the image and click “Open” Importing an Image for a Chalkboard Question Slide 11: Importing an Image for a Chalkboard Question The image is pasted on the screen…the teacher can: annotate using the pencil tool. write the answers on the image, type in the Answers. Slide 12: Engaging a Chalkboard Question Just like purely verbal questions, as students respond to Chalkboard questions, the pad number boxes will turn a darker blue. Click “End” when all students have responded. Slide 13: Engaging a Chalkboard Question The distribution chart will appear after clicking “End” Slide 14: Engaging a Chalkboard Question At this point, the students do not know the correct answer. Click on the box next to “Show Correct” and the correct answer pop-up will appear. Select the correct answer. Slide 15: Engaging a Chalkboard Question The correct response is now displayed. Click on “Close” to continue Slide 16: Engaging a Chalkboard Question The % correct on the previous question and the % cumulative correct for all of the questions asked so far are displayed. To move to the next verbal question, select the type of question, and click “Start”. If you are done, click on the red circle. Slide 17: Saving a Question in Chalkboard Mode If the teacher wants to record the question for future reference, click on the “Camera” icon and a screen shot is saved in the program. Slide 18: Feedback Options in Chalkboard Mode Several other feedback options are available. Click on the “Feedback” icon to choose. The Feedback Option box will appear. Slide 19: The teacher can select any or all of the options at any time.
