Marked inattention to the child's needs for affection, refusal or failure to provide needed physical care, spouse abuse in the child's presence, and permission of drug or alcohol used by the child.Physical neglect: Refusal or delay in seeking health care, abandonment, expulsion from home or refusal to allow a runaway to return home, and inadequate supervision(The Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act, 2000).: C H I L D N E G L E C T D E F I N I T I O N S: Emotional neglect: An act of omission, the result of parental ignorance and indifference. The child is not given positive emotional support and stimulation.
