Adaptation of MCP and other tools to the targeted countries markets so as to ease their application in SMEs, including in situations where no publicly sponsored intervention is carried out Market investigation and evaluation of energy efficiency potential - to gather information on the market penetration of energy efficient electric motor systems, on past, ongoing and planed activities for efficiency improvements in electric motor systems and by evaluating the energy efficiency potential in electric motor systems in the geographical area of programme Enterprise interventions demonstration projects audits and EE investments projects proposal of financial sources New participants - new national partners would be brought into the MCP in participating countries and other New Member and Candidate Countries. Slide6: 7,3 million tonne CO2/year ( 2% of the Kyoto target) €975 million of environmental costs 6-7 GW of power generating capacity European electricity consumption Electricity savings potential 30 – 35 billion kWh/year 8-9% Potential ImpactTarget group and Key Actors: Target group and Key Actors Industrial enterprises Intervention at two levels within companies: Technical: to demonstrate the feasibility and profitability of energy savings measures; Management policy: to encourage top level management commitment, necessary to cut across department boundaries. Industrial enterprises who could benefit from the 4EM-MCP project, would be brought into the MCP as "MCP Partners“ Key actors: the European Commission, which through its institutional tools and agencies (JRC) operates the MCP National and Regional agencies and specialised organisations who operate energy audit and enterprise intervention programmes Industry Trade associations Motor manufacturers associations as well as individual motor companies (channel to market, help in involving suppliers as partners of the initiative)4EM – MCP participants: 4EM – MCP participantsWork Program> Work Packages: Work Program> Work Packages Wp1: Project Management - Project coordination and management, including quality management activities Wp2: Market investigation and evaluation of energy efficiency potential - Investigation on the market penetration of energy efficient electric motor systems Wp3: Evaluation tool - Developing of a tool to support decision process in energy saving opportunities. The tool will be an adaptation of pre-existent MCP tools Wp4: Dissemination - Dissemination activities and integration of the tool set into national and regional energy agency, specialised organisation and industrial association and enterprise programmes and practices.
