Mures County – A few words…… SHORT HISTORY Part and parcel of the homeland’s history, Mures County bears witness through time to uninterrupted continuity of life of human settlements in this mirific region of the Romanian land. It has been the centuries-old cradle of Romanian-Hungarian-German coexistence, its people, whichever their ethnic origin, writing down together great pages in the history of Romania’s material and spiritual civilization. Historical sites going back to the Dacians and the Romans attest to the noble patriotic feelings that pervaded the inhabitants of this land. Later it was the mediaeval fortress of Sighisoara, older than several centuries, with its unique architecture of peerless historic value to Europe. Mures County was the hearth of the Transylvanian School, of the leaders of the 1848 revolution and of Avram Iancu, “the Mountains Prince”. Nearer to our times, in 1944, 11,000 Romanian troops laid the supreme sacrifice on the battlefields at Oarba de Mures, fighting for the country’s freedom.Slide3: GEOGRAPHICAL OUTLINES Mures county, ancient Romanian hearth, a picturesque part of the Carpathian-Danubian space, is situated in the central-north-eastern part of Transylvania’s beautiful citadel-like mountains, between 24° and 25°15’ East longitude and 46°4’ and 47°12’ North latitude. What is the living standard of the people? 10. What is the impact of rural tourism development?Slide22: Answers 1. The ethnographic and folkloric elements are extremely valuable as they represent the cultural and artistic memory of an area, being mostly created by anonymous craftsmen. 2. The new appeared in the life of the people in the form of electronic equipment (audio-video systems, PCs), modern cars and modernized commercial areas. 3. The foreign political factor that supports both the economic activities and the eco-tourist activities is the future integration of Romania within the EU as well as the application of the community acquits on all aspects of the social and economic life. 4. The current legislation regulates the problems regarding the protection of the environment in rural areas. The local authorities raise the awareness of the population by means of campaigns and activities to prevent and stop the destruction of the natural habitat. These actions have raised and increased the people’s interest in the beauty of the area. 5. Social awareness is closely related to the lifestyle and old customs of the local people as they can be negatively influenced by certain tourist activities or by a too large number of tourists. The local people easily accept tourists very often they even become friends 6. The retrocession of woods, the government subventions and the SAPARD programs support the small private enterprisers who want to set up a business and also the local councils to improve the rural infrastructure. The economic activity in the area does not meet the job requirements at the moment, a part of the population finding work in the near-by cities. 9. The living standard of the people has improved due to the people’s wish to decrease the difference between villages and towns so they modernized their houses and the local infrastructure (introduced water and energy supply, a sewerage system, reconstructed local roads), brought modern medical equipment to the local dispensaries, rebuilt and modernized the local cultural and educational institutions. 10. The segment is viable and we can obtain profit if we manage to accomplish the project successfully. The segment is accessible and we can enter it very easily, thanks to the collaboration with our foreign partners. The Netherlands is an EU member. Its surface covers 41.526 square kilometers and it has a population of 16.15 million. The people are of Caucasian/white entity and the mother tongue is Dutch. People live up to 78-79 years of age and the youth are prevalent. The dominating religion in this country is Christianity. Here are some statistics about the religion: Roman Catholic 31%, Protestant 21%, Muslim 4.4%, other 3.6%, unaffiliated 40%. People in this country usually have working places and the number of job hunters is low. People have a minimum salary of 200 euro, reaching high values. Prices are acceptable and the comfort level is high, satisfying the social classes and their needs.Intermediate channels: Intermediate channels We are using the Internet as an intermediate channel because: -it is a new way to launch a product on the international market -it is the fastest and easiest way to do it -you get more attention and the product reaches a high audience in short period of time -almost anyone can get access to the internet -is a cheap way to advertise your product -we can use this way of advertising on the international market In detail -another way of advertising our tourist pack -we use this type of advertising on the national market -a closer relationship with the costumer -the product/service is better promoted -directly -the final price is set by detailists -credits are awarded to clients, so they buy better the product/service You do not have the permission to view this presentation.
