Or a way of being ?
Core Values are actually all of these
It is a who you are and the behavior and way of being whether you are at a CAP function or in your other daily activities

The USAF states Core Values are more than just a Slogan
The glue that unifies the force and ties it to great warriors and public servants of the past
CAP Core Values: CAP Core Values CAP set our core values embraced in 1996
CAP’s current Core Values were approved in 1999
The Core Values are Integrated into every professional development program for Cadets and Senior Members
Core Values establish a common set of behavior expectations as well as a set of standards to access member conduct
IntegrityThe willingness to do what is right even when no one is around: Integrity The willingness to do what is right even when no one is around Is the fiber to core values; without it all other core values will not prevail
It is at the center of our society for all that is moral and just.
It is more than honesty
It courage, responsibility, accountability, justice, openness, self respect, humility
CAP members must practice the highest standards of self discipline
Service Before Self: Service Before Self Professional duties take precedence over personal desires
Group Goals are more important than individuals
Excellence: Excellence To be the very best
Consistently improve our humanitarian mission
From personal appearance to resource management excellence must be the goal of all CAP members
Volunteer Service: Volunteer Service Reflects the very essence of the organization service to humanity
All CAP members give of their time energy, personal resources
Commitment to put the organization purpose first and foremost
Members agree to obey the rules and regulations
This takes self discipline
Respect: Respect Members are from all walks of life
Members must treat each other with dignity and fairness
Work together as a team
To not treat each other with respect and dignity would threaten the success of the CAP missions

Trust: Trust Be honest in our dealings with each other

Dependability: Dependability Make every effort to honor your words
A person is only as good as their word
When you make a commitment follow through
If you are looked at as not being dependable you will have problems with being respected and trusted
Fun: Fun Enjoy the time we spend accomplishing the mission of CAP
When CAP stops being fun stop CAP
Enjoy our fellow cadets and the senior members who work with you
Go to as many activities as you can. This allows you get the most out of CAP
