How do you keep a positive attitude when something negative happens or someone displays a negative attitude? Negative does not necessarily stem from you. If you aren’t watchful, you can get swept up in its negative effect by “reacting” rather than “proacting”. (It takes practice! Walk away before reacting. Think how to respond the next time you encounter this negative response) You do not have to respond to negative; you can go around it. But you have to choose to go around sometimes preplanned.
