Coach Volunteer Forms: Coach Volunteer Forms All coaches must provide two signed copies of the volunteer registration form Access using WebYS: click “Coach” click “Volunteer Form” complete, print two copies, sign and mail to: Palo Alto AYSO P.O. Box 1493, Palo Alto, CA 94302


Make Contact: Make Contact Contact parents/players WebYS email phone backup – must make contact Practice location, days and time day, location is fixed time is your choice (within limits) Arrange a parents' meeting at your house before first practice at field after first practice ... but you need signed registration forms to practice


Player Registration Forms: Player Registration Forms Must be with you at all practices and games no form – no play or practice Coach is responsible for getting signed forms from parents (due to online registration/payment) coaches and parents can print forms in WebYS parent must sign (wet signature) Get 2, preferably 3 copies one for you one for us (your division commissioner) one for your assistant coach

Drops, Adds, Parent Requests: Drops, Adds, Parent Requests Inform DC of: player dropping out (confirm with parent!) parent requesting team change e.g., practice day conflict player wanting to join your team do not promise anything! DC handles all team assignments/changes do not allow unassigned players to practice

Game Day Reminders: Game Day Reminders Plan lineup and substitutions before game-day On game-day: Put up corner flags and goals/nets if necessary Combination Lock: 20-6-28 Introduce yourself to coaches of opposing team Warm up your players Cheer opponents and shake hands Thank the referees If last game of day put away goals/nets Clean up your trash Take home your corner flags


Game Day Behavior: Game Day Behavior Positive Coaching Alliance, www.positivecoach.org RULES: don’t bend the rules (or their spirit) to win OPPONENTS: are a gift and not to be denigrated OFFICIALS: respect them even when you disagree, even when they are wrong TEAMMATES: don’t embarrass your team SELF: respect yourself and maintain absolute standards You are responsible for parent behavior Stay in the Coach technical area 10 yards either side of half-way line Let the players play Don't coach player with the ball Applaud good play by both teams Limit scoring in unbalanced games Cheer opponents, shake hands after game
