What You Need to Know About Bill 168 Bill 168 is an Act to amend Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) with respect to violence and harassment in the workplace and other matters
It received Royal Assent on December 09, 2009 and comes into force on June 15, 2010
It now places an explicit duty on employers to protect workers from workplace violence and harassment and place a positive obligation to take precautionary measures should violence appear likely to occur within the workplace
Becoming compliant with the requirements of this new legislation will be a lengthy and detailed process for employers 17a-218 Silvercreek Pkwy. N. Suite 327

Workplace Harassment :
Workplace Harassment Oxford Dictionary Definition is:
To torment (someone) by subjecting them to constant interference or intimidation.
To make repeated small-scale attacks on (an enemy) in order to wear down resistance.
There are many types of harassment, including:
Verbal: Where threatening words or phrases are spoken
Physical: Where someone is treated in a physically intimating manner
Sexual: Where inappropriate sexual advances are made
Visual: Where inappropriate material is visible (such as centerfolds on an office wall)
