1 General :

Page 3 1.3 The applications of ISUP 1.1 The purpose of the ISDN signalling 1.2 The type of ISDN signalling 1 General

1.1 Purpose of ISDN SIgnalling :

Page 4 Deliver control information for call establishment and call control through the ISDN Network 1.1 Purpose of ISDN SIgnalling

1.2 Types of the ISDN Signaling :

1.3 Applications of ISUP :

Page 6 1.3 Applications of ISUP The ISDN User Part (ISUP) defines the protocol and procedures used to set-up, manage, and release trunk circuits that carry voice and data calls over the public switched telephone network (PSTN). ISUP is used for both ISDN and non-ISDN calls. Calls that originate and terminate at the same switch do not use ISUP signaling.

2.3.1 What is the end-to-end signalling :

Page 12 2.3.1 What is the end-to-end signalling End-to-end signalling is defined as the capability to transfer signalling information of end points significance firectly between signalling end points.

2.3.2 Transmission of end-to-end signalling :
