U-C promotes the study of chess and debate as games; as art; as fun; as life-skills, as careers; and as community improvement. U-C offers classroom and personal instruction, tournaments, coaching, club management, sale and rental of products, tournament chess sets stocked, or special order, an out-of-school all day all year “academy”, event management, and lectures. Profits are added to the scholarship fund, also known as the “war chest.”

Market is open from 9-8:00 Mon-Sat and 10-6:00 on Sunday. Rated matches are reported to USCF nightly and require memberships (available on site.)
