Live Show Location: Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, MA. Live Show Date: October 8, 2006 Background on Event: While the show in 2006 will be the first time Halloween on Ice (HOI) has been televised on “network television”, the show’s original concept was developed in 1994 as a fall skating extravaganza starring two time Olympic Medalist Nancy Kerrigan. Kerrigan the featured performer in “Halloween on Ice” is also one of the stars of the new hit FOX show entitled “Skating With Celebrities”. “Skating With Celebrities” received a 7.4 HH rating and 16 share during the debut airing of the show, which is the highest rated debut for a non-scripted show in two (2) years. The show features world class skaters performing to Halloween themed music dressed in costumes befitting the holiday. HOI was created and first produced in 1994 in conjunction with the opening of the New Boston Garden (the FleetCenter). Since that time, it has played to live audiences in Providence and Portland, Maine as well astouring the Midwest on a ten city tour in 1999. Among those that have performed in Halloween on Ice are Scott Hamilton, Kurt Browning, Liz Manley, Brasseur & Eisler, Punsalen & Swallow and Todd Eldredge. From 2000 through 2002 the show was moved to Myrtle Beach and played to sellout crowds on small ice at the Ice Castle Theater. The 2006 version of Halloween on Ice will be the first live show since 2002 and the first on “big ice” since 1999. During its history, HOI has been seen by television audiences on TBS, ESPN, and ESPN2 as well as in national syndication for each of the past three years (in 2005 the show aired in 75% of the United States). In addition to the television coverage, in September of 2004 we released The Best of Halloween on Ice, a compilation of various performances throughout the years, on DVD. Both airings will take place on weekend afternoons. The Style Network has increased in cable subscribers 31% since 2003. 64% of women 18-34 were interested in Style, ranking 7th of 39 among emerging networks.
