Ed, Special Ed, & Dual Majors is to take MAT 115, College Algebra (GMT) if possible!!! You must make a “C” or better to be eligible for TED 222. You must take TED 222 to be admitted to Teacher’s Ed. This course also fulfills your GMT/GEC requirement Middle Grades majors take MAT 112, but it doesn’t have to be taken Spring 2011. MAT 115 (“C” or better) TED 222 Admission to Teacher Ed. requirement Scheduling Priority #2 : Scheduling Priority #2 Every UNCG student must take ENG 101/GRD1. If you have not taken it (and have not fulfilled the credit another way), it is strongly suggested that you take it in the Spring. Generating your Degree Evaluation : Generating your Degree Evaluation Once you have entered the secure area of UNCGenie, use the following steps: Click Student Click Student Records Click Degree Evaluation Enter the term (fall 2010 or spring 2011) and click submit Click on “Generate New Evaluation” Click on the button beside your program and choose the term again Click the “Generate Request” button Select “Detail Requirements” option and click submit Print a copy and bring it to your advising appointment! Click on “Class Schedule” Be sure the term selected is Spring 2011 Leave Subject as “Not Applicable” Under Course Category, scroll down to Gs and pick the category you need Click “Course Search” Finding Courses : Finding Courses Understanding Course Listings : Understanding Course Listings 1 2 3 5 6 4 Freshman Seminars : Freshman Seminars Freshman seminar, or “FMS” courses are usually Freshman Friendly (FF) and can be a great way to meet GEC requirements. Be sure you actually like the topic of the course before signing up for one! You can find course descriptions online. Be sure to check when your window opens! The CRN for this course is 11977 Tips for Registering During Your Window : Tips for Registering During Your Window Check the day before your window opens to be sure you have your advising code because you can’t register without it. Know which classes are available. Check several days beforehand to begin planning if your top picks are full Have 2nd and 3rd choices/alternates ready Re-check availability the day of registration. Be poised & ready to go at midnight!! Have your Advising Code & CRNs for all top and alternate choices ready!! Enter CRNs for courses with only a few seats left FIRST. When you have completed registering, be sure to print your Student Schedule by Day & Time to double check that you don’t have scheduling conflicts. If you really want/need a course and there are no seats left… Keep checking back, sometimes a seat will become available (persistence pays off!) The Tuition Payment deadline is Dec 15th.
