FAITH:

FAITH Genuine faith produces repentance in the life and character of the believer.

REPENTANCE:

REPENTANCE In Acts 2, upon hearing Peter’s sermon, the people were “cut to the heart.” Peter told them to repent.

REPENTANCE:

REPENTANCE Repentance is not the conviction one has about his/her sinfulness, but what one resolves to do about it.

REPENTANCE:

REPENTANCE Zacchaeus: “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” (Luke 19.8)

REPENTANCE:

REPENTANCE Faith and repentance find their public expression in baptism.

BAPTISM:

BAPTISM In Acts 2, “those who accepted Peter’s message were baptized.” They were immersed in water.

BAPTISM:

BAPTISM Baptism is a confession of faith. Baptism is symbolic of repentance. Baptism represents a joining in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

BAPTISM:

BAPTISM Romans 6.3-4 “Didn’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Jesus was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

BAPTISM:

BAPTISM At baptism… …God forgives sins. …God gives the Spirit. …God places one within the church.
