Sur-realism ‘Sur’ means below- so sur-realism means below realism. Surrealism art seeks to enter the subconscious mind by using illusion and art techniques to create a world that looks real but can’t be accepted by the logical mind.

Use of Shading Working with the five elements of shading (shadow, reflected light, highlight, med light and dark shadow) creates the illusion of a rounded form

Optical Tricks : 

Optical Tricks Surrealist artists used basic optical tricks Dali and Magrite used blue sky and clouds to create the look of infinite space

Juxtaposition : 

Juxtaposition Surrealists purposely made the viewer uncomfortable by adding things that don’t go together in a strange and different world.
