Purpose (Art. 1): 

Purpose (Art. 1) This regulation establishes a financial instrument for the environment (“LIFE+”) The general objective of LIFE+ shall be to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of Community environmental policy and legislation, including the integration of the environment into other policies, thereby contributing to sustainable development. In particular, LIFE+ shall support the implementation of the 6th EAP, including the thematic strategies, and finance measures and projects with European added value in Member States (Click on the banner on top to return to the summary)

Eligibility criteria (Art. 3) Support the overall objective Community interest Technically and financially coherent, feasible and provide value for money European added value: at least on of the following criteria: LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity: Best practice measures and projects or demonstration measures and projects LIFE+ Environment Policy and Governance: innovative measures and projects or demonstration measures and projects relating to Community environmental objectives, including the development or dissemination of best-practice techniques, know-how or technologies Forest fire prevention etc. Complementarity (Art. 10) LIFE+ shall not finance measures which fall within the eligibility criteria of other Community financial instruments (Click on the banner on top to return to the summary)
