Blogging Trends : Blogging Trends In 2004, Blog was the most searched for definition at Merriam-Webster.com
31.6 Million Hosted Blogs, Growing to 53.4 Million by end of 2005
10 Million created in the first quarter of 2005 alone
66% of those surveyed had not updated in 2 months
1.09 blogs are composed of an initial post and then nothing else follows
Only 9.9% are linking to traditional news sources
92.4% of blogs are created by people under the age of 30 and more 13 – 19 year olds are blogging than any other segment of the population at this point in time (Perseus.com Blogsurvey)
Bloggers account for less than 2% of the adult population (Universal McCann and Media in Mind Study)
