Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: Takes up less space, compact Uses minimal amount of material Cheap material Chair conforms the shape of the body Table surface is flat Less need for comfort because user will not stay on the seat for too long Slide 2: Stools take up less space, no backrest = easier access/exit Less material Easier to serve food by connecting all customers onto one table Chair fixed onto the floor Slide 3: Padding increases comfort for user Table attached in between the seats A space between the two sections of padding to prevent it creasing and ripping Holes on the seat for ventilation Airport Chairs : Airport Chairs Form: - aesthetically pleasing (variation in colours, shape and shiny) - looks professional, polished edges, sleek design - creates the illusion that it is comfortable to sit on (has handles, a curved back, bottom part of chair curves in) - chairs are joined together (looks secure) Function: Grouped chairs (feels like a set to provide personal space, it is also quicker to move chairs around as they are grouped) Bottom of chair is curved in to provide lower back support Standardized measurements for 50th percentile Holes at the back of the chair to let air through KFC Chairs : KFC Chairs Form Two different types of chairs for each ‘set’ Wall-sofa looks comfortable and relaxing to sit on (cushioned, soft-looking) Bright colours – easy to attract attention, appealing Function Tables are rounded for safety reasons (so children running around (frequent!) will not hurt themselves as easily) Standardized height for both tables and chairs Smooth laminate for wipe-clean surface Material for sofa chair is also selected to allow for easy clean. Canteen Chairs : Canteen Chairs Form Chairs and tables are all connected (looks compact, private Bright colours mix with metal (makes it look sleek and fun at the same time) – suitable for canteens Rounded corners – cleaner and neater finish Function Since they are all joined, they can be moved around easily Curved seat allows more comfort for curves of the body Plastic allows easy clean Since the area is normally limited, connecting them would prevent people from moving chairs unnecessarily (and wasting space!) Some allow swiveling so that it is easier for people to move in and out of seat.
