Premium member Presentation Transcript Group 4 Project : Group 4 Project “Develop a logo which combines the 'Group 4 Project' title with the 'Flagship 4 Sustainability' concept. Produce the logo in a variety of forms suitable for integration into the project from 2010 and prove that it communicates the values of the project successfully.” Introduction : Introduction Create a logo for the Group 4 Project Incorporating basic themes and ideas for a visually stimulating logo. Would represent ‘sustainability’ and the sciences of biology, physics, chemistry, design technology, and sport science. Includes the motto, ‘Flagship for Sustainable Development’. It is designed for, ‘the Client’. Conceptualizing : Conceptualizing Forming concepts Brainstorm concepts and designs (on scrap paper of course) Team members contribute to creative process Incorporating themes and symbols. Sketch prototype logos Consolidating concepts and mixing ideas. To the drawing board! : To the drawing board! Our prototype Initial sketches Planning : Planning Deciding on implementation medium Placing two logos on t-shirts. Digital imaging saved for future use. Other possible ideas Laser-cutting on wooden board. Acrylic plaque. Hard at work : Hard at work The process of creating the logo required the whole group’s creative input. Discussion Development : Development Process of elimination Internal process of elimination: -Does it incorporate themes?-Is it visually stimulating? Interview teachers and students Criteria: visual, conceptual, and overall appeal Our elimination process : Our elimination process Interviews conducted with student and staff members. Our elimination process : Our elimination process Field interviews, sketches and graphic designs were taken to a random sample of students and staff to determine the most appealing logo. Short-listed Final sketches Development : Development Graphic design Development of basic templates Use of various software-Photoshop CS3-Xara X A strictly digital IT process. Group creative contribution to details. Designing through ICT : Designing through ICT Selection : Selection The final logo was selected after considering several groups.-Group members-Interviewed staff and students-The client Two logos are to be placed on t-shirts, one logo is to be official. Official logo was decided on basis of appeal, simplicity and function. Leaf : Leaf Simon designed this logo… It was rejected. Peace sign : Peace sign This logo was actually the most popular logo overall. But we thought it was awful. To hell with students, we’re designing this for our client, Mr. Ford! Sprout : Sprout Meant to symbolize how a project grows from its roots to a healthy plant. The five roots represent the five sciences that are the roots of the Group 4 Project. Awesome : Awesome This is our final and primary logo. It was chosen for its simplicity, ability to represent the Group 4 Project as a whole, and its clean and professional aesthetic appeal. The Whale : The Whale We thought this one was pretty good, but most people aren’t awesome enough to appreciate it. Action : Action Strictly scrap paper used throughout decision-making process. Sublimation process of logo on t-shirts-Printing logo on sublimation paper.-Ironing logo onto t-shirts. Unused DT shirts recycled. Getting it done : Getting it done The final product : The final product Slide 21: Future question: Find ways to promote awareness of the Group 4 Project and its aims throughout the school.
