Slide1:

Why are there no more books  written   in the  last 2000 years from  no  one else?

Slide2:

What makes up the Bible

Slide3:

1400 years to write, 66 books, 40 authors, 3 languages, (Hebrew, Greek & Aramic ) 3 continents: African continent writings of the OT (think of all that happened in Egypt and it’s general area), The Asian continent (the middle east and majority of the writings), The European continent (Paul and John’s writings).

Slide4:

The word "canon" comes from the Greek  κα νών , meaning " rule " or " measuring stick ".  Completion of canon. Since A.D. 397 the Christian church has considered the canon of the Bible to be complete; if it is complete, then it must be closed.

Slide5:

We believe: The Original Writings: Inspired: True Author is the Holy Spirit Verbal: Plenary: completely the very words each word, of each book. Not (the moral of the story) Inerrancy: without error Persevered by God for us today. (this can be proved scientifically)

Slide7:

The Big Reason the Bible is Complete. No More Apostles.

Slide8:

Every book in the NT is written by an apostle or approved by an Apostle   Was the book written by someone who was an eyewitness of Jesus Christ?   Did the book pass the “truth test”? (i.e., did it concur with other, already agreed-upon Scripture?).   The new churches were saving these letters from the Apostles and teaching from them.

Slide9:

Jesus affirmed the Old Testament Writings [Mat 5:17-18 ESV] 17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Slide10:

[2Pe 1:16-21 ESV] 16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased," 18 we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain.

Slide11:

[2Pe 1:16-21 ESV] 19 And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, 20 knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. 21 For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Slide12:

A Christian has an ever increasing desire to know these writings, because this is the fastest way to Know God better. Call to action: 19 And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed , to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,

Slide13:

The Holy Spirit filters our life experiences through the Words of the Bible and they cannot contradict themselves. Keeps us from sinning Gives us Hope Tells us the Meaning and Purpose to Life. We get to Know God.

Slide14:

When people don’t read their Bible. They believe th e following Example: 1. M ean God in OT 2. Tolerant, push over Jesus in NT. 3. People not that bad. When you actual read your OT. Stupid evil people in OT, Patient Holy God. Jesus is Uncompromising & Holy, yet full of Grace to the repentant.

Slide15:

There are no more Apostles & Prophets [ Eph 4:11-12 ESV] 11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,

Slide16:

An Apostle walked with Jesus. Peter writes 16 For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Slide17:

Paul Writes: [1Co 15:7-10 ESV] 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8 Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.

Slide18:

The Last Prophet was the Apostle John as he wrote the Book of Revelation. [Rev 22:18-19 ESV] 18 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Slide21:

You Might Be a Cult .  C laiming to be Prophets & Apostles adopting practices of new age & eastern  mystics Speaking with Angels & God: Mormons, Seventh Day Adventism, Christian Science, Unification Church, Islam Doctrine of  Dominionism : Take over the world for Jesus, by nation,    “ word faith”   Prosperity Gospel: Name & Claim    Experiential VS Bible Truth
