More Faith! 11

PowerPoint Presentation:

Faith: Root, Fruit Root: 1. God gives us Holy Information ; It Is Truth. Irrelevant if we believe or not. 2. We acknowledge It is True. Fruit: We respond accordingly. Obey; Know , Trust , Creates Intimacy = LOVE God, Affection for God comes and goes. Depends on what sins you happen to love more.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Man on a cliff story. Root: God Gave Truth; Truth with baked in command of action. Fruit: Man either acts in faith or rebels.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Commanded to have Faith. [1Co 16:13 ESV] Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

PowerPoint Presentation:

[ Heb 11:1 ESV] Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen . We did not see, but we have evidence. The Word of God to tell us. The evidence of what God did all around us.

PowerPoint Presentation:

[ Heb 11:2 ESV] For by it the people of old received their commendation. ( Approved by God.) God told them something, they obeyed.

PowerPoint Presentation:

[ Heb 11:3 ESV] By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God , so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Science VS Religion! Pseudo science VS God The atheistic world view is the “Naturalistic” world view. (Anything but God ) Things are made of things that are made, but all of the origin in nothingness. Before the “big bang” & evolution. Nothing

PowerPoint Presentation:

[ Heb 11:4 ESV] By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts . And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Difference in Offering, not the material but an issue of the heart. [Gen 4:2 ESV] And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground. [Gen 4:3 ESV] In the course of time Cain brought to the LORD an offering of the fruit of the ground, [Gen 4:4 ESV] and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering, [Gen 4:5 ESV] but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. [Gen 4:6 ESV] The LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? [Gen 4:7 ESV] If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it."

PowerPoint Presentation:

Abel knew what God required and obeyed. Cain knew what God required and did not obey. Attitude also played a role.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Abel died, yet still speaks? Jesus Said; [ Luk 20:37 ESV] But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. [ Luk 20:38 ESV] Now He is not God of the dead, but of the living, for all live to him."

PowerPoint Presentation:

[ Heb 11:5 ESV] By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.

PowerPoint Presentation:

[Gen 5:22 ESV] Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. [Gen 5:23 ESV] Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. [Gen 5:24 ESV] Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.

PowerPoint Presentation:

[ Heb 11:6 ESV] And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.   Not Easter bunny, Santa Claus believe; Subjective Acknowledge what is True, Objective.

PowerPoint Presentation:

The Opposite of Hebrews 11:6, The Opposite of Faith. [ Psa 14:1 ESV] To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good. [ Psa 14:2 ESV] The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. [ Psa 14:3 ESV] They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. [ Psa 14:4 ESV] Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the LORD?

PowerPoint Presentation:

Obeying God’s Holy Information [ Heb 11:7 ESV] By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Obeying God’s Holy Information [ Heb 11:8 ESV] By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. [ Heb 11:9 ESV] By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. [ Heb 11:10 ESV] For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Obeying God’s Holy Information [ Heb 11:11 ESV] By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. [ Heb 11:12 ESV] Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Faith can look very messy. [Gen 18:9 ESV] They said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" And he said, "She is in the tent." [Gen 18:10 ESV] The LORD said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son." And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him. [Gen 18:11 ESV] Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah. [Gen 18:12 ESV] So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, "After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?" [Gen 18:13 ESV] The LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh and say, 'Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?' [Gen 18:14 ESV] Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son." [Gen 18:15 ESV] But Sarah denied it, saying, "I did not laugh," for she was afraid. He said, "No, but you did laugh."

PowerPoint Presentation:

Obeying God’s Holy Information, regardless of the outcome. [ Heb 11:13 ESV] These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.
