Here’s 6 factors you will want to think about: 1. Types of chickens 2. Number of chickens 3. Area SizeSlide 5: Having considered why you want one you must now consider a bunch of other factors. Here’s 6 factors you will want to think about: 4. Environmental Outlook a) Flooding b) One or Multiple storey c) Heating 5. Protection from Predators 6. Portable or PermanentSlide 6: So we come to what kind of coop we want. There are m any sub-divisions but at a high level there are two broad divisions Wood Constructions Eglus (plastic)Slide 7: Another class division is whether or not the coop is portable or not. Here we have the following: small all in one portable coop small mobile coop both the above are usually for 3 or 4 birds Both have room to run and adequate protectionSlide 8: Another class division is whether or not the coop is portable or not. Here we have the following: medium sized stationary coops which might be anywhere from 3′x4′ to 4′x 8′ For a larger number of birds or show birds the only options are the non portable larger coopsSlide 9: So after we’ve considered all of the above we come to specific coops of choice The A-Frame - This original design is named after its similarity to the capital letter "A".Slide 10: The Chicken Ark - This is bigger than the A-Frame and much heavier so its more difficult to maneuver. To facilitate moving the coop, it very often comes fitted With small wheelsSlide 11: The Poultry Shed - is bigger than both the A-Frame and the chicken ark. It usually comes in two different forms, permanent and portable.Slide 12: The Chicken House - is a very large chicken coop that is both very strong and easily to maintain.
