THE ANCIENT OLYMPICS: 

The Olympic games name came from the ancient city of olympia , in the year 776BC.They were really strict about their rules only men were allowed to play, but women were not allowed because the men were naked. The punishment for the women if they were caught watching was DEATH!!! .The reward for winning was not medals it was olive tree branches twisted into a crown. THE ANCIENT OLYMPICS

The New Olympics: 

Did you know there were more than one type of Olympic games there are 4 different types the 1 ST one summer Olympics, 2 nd is winter Olympics, 3 rd is the special Olympics and the 4 th is the Paralympics. The mottos are Faster , Higher , Stronger and “let me win . But if I Cannot , let me be brave in attempt ”. But the rules are hard to follow e.g. Ben Johnson won gold in 1998, after taking steroids and got his medal taken of him . The New Olympics
