Natural World .vs. Technology The Natural World and Technology. The natural world is more of man made things. For example The tree’s, animals, and plants are all man made objects , which are from the natural world. Where as technology is things that people actually make . Like I-phones, computers, Cars ect. Definitions 1.Technology- Using knowledge to develop products and systems that satisfy needs and wants, solve problems and increase our capabilities 2.Technologically literate- Being comfortable with the use of technology and making informed decisions about it. 3. System- an organized way of achieving a goal. 4.Input , process, Output, Feedback- the parts of a system. Input is what is put into a system. Process is the action part of the system. Output is the result of a systems process. Feedback tells whether the system is on track.

The Name Game The name game was a system that our teacher Mr. Goldstein came up with. It was where we all went around the room and meet one another and told three things about our self. This system had some good things and some bad. The good things were that we were able to ask the questions that we wanted to know. The problem was that half of the class was moving where as the other half was not so we only met half of the people. A different solution that we could try is do a different method like sand up in front of the class and introduce our selves instead.

TimeLine Of Technology 1. In the year 2000 the biggest invention was the use of vegetable oil as a viable fuel source .The impact of that was we were able to use a new fuel source. 2. Before the year 500 BC a known invention in Ancient Greece was the water clock .It was invented in 430 B.C – Invented by Plato The impact was it aloud scientist to learn to make new clocks 3. The i-phone was invented in 2005 by-Steve Jobs. The impact was it aloud people to multi task. Next you have the invention on using bronze, created by Christian Jurgensen Thomasen after the year 500 BC this aloud people to make coins and jewelry out of bronze . Last, you have Abiocor artificial heart which was invented by abiomed which was invented in the year 2001. This aloud people to do heart transplants without a real heart.

The marshmallow challenge was a challenge that we had to create a standing tower type object in 18 minutes. We also had to have the marshmallow on top and the tower had to stand on its own. We worked in groups of about 4 or 5. The benefits to that were having an extra set of hands. And have tons of ideas. Now while there were some benefits to the groups, there were also bad parts. For example being in a group caused arguments. But our biggest challenge was we always had someone try to do everything and be the leader. The main thing that we found challenging was that the material were hard. The spaghetti was to thin and breaks easily. Also the sting would break the spaghetti or slide off. Another challenge was that we only had 18 minutes which may seem like a lot, but its not at all. The other challenge was the tape. The Tape kept sticking to table. Lastly we weren't aloud to tape down the structure. In the end our tower did not stand very tall but it still was standing. Our tower ended up standing 2 1/2 in. Marshmallow Challenge
