Load Runner can emulate hundreds or thousands of concurrent users to put the application through the rigors of real-life user loads, while collecting information from key infrastructure components (Web servers, database servers etc). The results can then be analyzed in detail, to explore the reasons for particular behavior.Load Runner ha three major Components : Load Runner ha three major Components Virtual User Generator Controller Analysis Slide4: Load testing Process Step 1: Step 1 Planning the test: Develop a clearly defined test plan to ensure the test scenarios which you develop will accomplish load-testing/Stress testing objectives. Step 2: Step 2 Recording and editing Script: Record your script for the application which you want to perform load testing. Edit the script by making necessary changes in script in order to meet your testing requirements and compile /execute it to make sure it is error free.Step 3: Step 3 Creating the scenario:A scenario describes the events that occur during a testing session. It includes a list of machines, scripts, and Vusers that run during the scenario. You can create scenarios using LoadRunner Controller. You can create manual scenarios as youll as goal-oriented scenarios. In manual scenarios, you define the number of VUsers, the load generator machines, and percentage of Vusers to be assigned to each script. Step4 : Step4 Running the scenario:You emulate load on the server by instructing multiple Vusers to perform tasks simultaneously. Before the testing, you set the scenario configuration and scheduling. you can run the entire scenario, Vuser groups, or individual Vusers. Step 5: Step 5 Monitoring the scenario:You monitor scenario execution using the LoadRunner online runtime, transaction, system resource, web resource, web server resource, web application server resource, database server resource, network delay, streaming media resource, firewall server resource. Step 6: Step 6 Analyzing test results. During scenario execution, LoadRunner records the performance of the application under different loads. you use LoadRunner’s graphs and reports to analyze the application’s performance.
