IP Video Installation Preparation: 

IP Video Installation Preparation Our new camera(s) arrived, what now? www.agriculture.purdue.edu/agit OR http://sharepoint.agriculture.purdue.edu/agit/Lists/IP%20Video%20Checkin/NewForm.aspx Scheduling the installation Will be scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance The Installation Initial installation will take 30-45 min, then 15 min for each staff member who will use camera Requires presence of each camera user

Microsoft Office Communicator: 

Microsoft Office Communicator Secure alternative to: AOL Instant Messenger MSN Messenger Yahoo Messenger, etc Allows communication with other staff in Extension and College of Agriculture Stays within Purdue network

Microsoft Office Communicator: 

Microsoft Office Communicator Use with headphone andamp; microphone in place of long distance telephone in network Network is Extension and College of Agriculture Use with new IP Video camera for point to point 'meetings' in network

Internet Explorer 7: 

Internet Explorer 7 Download included in updates on Microsoft website if updating your home computer You can choose to download and install or not Being tested extensively on campus now Not fully compatible with all current websites Particular issues with sites using cascading style sheets Outlook Web Access (OWA) SAM uses cascading style sheets

Windows Vista: 

Windows Vista Vista will be default OS on home machines purchased early 2007 Leased machines will continue to run on Windows XP AgIT will switch OS to Vista only after testing on our system No changes will be made during or immediately prior to fair season

Office 2007: 

Office 2007 Office 2007 will be default on home machines purchased w/Office early 2007 Leased machines will continue to have Office 2003 Office 2007 and earlier versions…. 2007 saves with .docx extension which is incompatible with 2003 and older. Can use 'save as' and save in 97-2003 format Can download reader Important to those who carry documents between home and work.

Office 2007: 

Office 2007 AgIT will begin testing Office 2007 after the first of the year Internal testing will be first Extension offices to be test sites will be recruited early ‘07 AgIT will migrate to Office 2007 on all supported machines in 2007 Migration not likely to occur until after 2007 County Fair Season

Lease Update: 

Lease Update Current order has been sent to Gateway Expect new computers to begin arriving in 3-4 weeks Printers may begin arriving as soon as 2 weeks Same process as recent lease process for scheduling installs Fax packing list to AgIT AgIT contact to schedule install

Network vs non-supported printers: 

Network vs non-supported printers Several counties have purchased printers with end of year monies 'Supported' printers are those which allow AgIT to manage them remotely Typically printers on the lease printers list Only supported new dot matrix printer is the Epson LQ590 All others will be setup for individual machines in the office rather than put on the network

Extension Database: 

Extension Database All 92 counties have been updated to most current version Reminder – when asked to 'sync' always do so Never store any other files on the 'L' drive Training 12/14 at 2 pm – see Richard’s email Topic: Online Enrollment Documentation will be available online Educators can use the 'view only' password to access information in ED without the option to make changes

AgIT Holiday Hours: 

AgIT Holiday Hours AgIT observes University Holidays AgIT will be Closed: December 19 from 11:30 – 1:30 for Ag Administration Building Holiday Luncheon December 20 8 am to 11:00 am for AgIT December Staff Meeting December 22, December 25, December 26, January 1 – Holiday Break January 15 – Martin Luther King Holiday AgIT Hours are 7:30 am to 5:00 pm all other weekdays
