GOAL 4: Partner with academic and other departments to create initiatives that support our mission. Slide4: Learning Reconsidered (Dungy, Evans, Fried) Student learning produces both educational and developmental outcomes; distinguishing them is pointless and potentially harmful, and the goal of all institutions of higher education should be the integration of all domains of learning and of the work of educators (ACPA/NASPA, 2004, p. 5).Career Services: Career Services Absent Professor Program & Class Presentations (175 for 2003-2004) English 1002 Writing Assignment College Liaison Program Career Panels Employment Services Consultations and Luncheons Center for Academic Success (CAS): Center for Academic Success (CAS) Supplemental Instruction Absent Professor Program (27 presentations for 2003-2004) New Faculty Orientation, Departmental Seminars, College Teaching Conferences Consultations with Individual Faculty and DepartmentsCenter for Community Engagement, Learning, & Leadership (CCELL): Center for Community Engagement, Learning, & Leadership (CCELL) Service-Learning Courses Service-Learning Faculty Advisory Committee Service-Learning Faculty Incentive Grants Service-Learning Faculty FellowCenter for Freshman Year (UCFY): Center for Freshman Year (UCFY) Extended Orientation Program Social Work InternsChild Care: Child Care Human Ecology Student Teacher Training Child Care Advisory Committee Child Care Steering Committee Child Care Hiring Committee Individual Faculty Projects Greek Affairs: Greek Affairs Faculty Advisors Greek Assessment Committee Greek Housing Sub-Committee Model Greek Community Core Group Judicial Affairs: Judicial Affairs Judicial Affairs Hearing Panels Code of Student Conduct CommitteeOrientation & Spring Testing: Orientation & Spring Testing Spring Testing (“This is LSU,” Summer Reading Program) Orientation (Summer Reading Program)Recruiting Services: Recruiting Services Recruitment Advisory Committee Preview LSU Explore LSU Tiger Day State Rally Residential Life: Residential Life Residential Colleges Hall Programs Faculty Friends Student Aid & Scholarships: Student Aid & Scholarships Chancellor’s Alumni Scholarships Faculty Senate Student Aid & Scholarship Committee Faculty Senate International Education CommitteeStudent Health Center: Student Health Center Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Program (SAVA) Undergraduate Admissions: Undergraduate Admissions Undergraduate Admissions Committee Admissions Standards & Honors Committee (ASH) Evaluation of Transfer Credit Electronic Transfer Matrix Project Union: Union Union Art Gallery Committee (UAG)Collaboration Hot Spots: Collaboration Hot Spots Career Services Center for Academic Success Center for Community Engagement Learning, & Leadership Center for Student Leadership & Involvement Residential Colleges Summer Reading Program Wellness Education (mystudentbody.com) STRIPESConstruction & Renovation: Construction & RenovationSlide21: Student Life & Academic Services Strategic Plan, 2003-2010 Goal 3: Provide opportunities for learning, involvement, and personal development that enrich students' lives. This integration requires collaboration among the administrators, faculty, and staff responsible for the academic and social dimensions of the undergraduate experience (Jossey-Bass, 1999, p. 110).Residential LifeNew Construction, Fall 2004: Residential Life New Construction, Fall 2004Graham Residential College Complex: Graham Residential College Complex 42 MillionGraham Residential College Complex: Graham Residential College Complex 4 Buildings International Studies (IS [180]) Information Technology (IT [200]) Freshman Gateway (Herget [400]) Faculty in Residence 4 Multimedia Classrooms 3 Libraries Small-Group Study SpaceResidential LifeRenovation Update, Fall 2004: Residential Life Renovation Update, Fall 2004Broussard Hall: Broussard Hall Fall 2004 3.4 Million Information Technology Residential College, 2004-2006 Vision LA Residential College, 2006 (Currently housed in Acadian Hall)Residential LifeNew Construction & Renovation, 2006-2017: Residential Life New Construction & Renovation, 2006-2017 Blake Hall (2007) East Laville (2008) West Laville (2009) Kirby Smith I (2010) Kirby Smith II (2011) CEBA Apartments (2010) Pentagon (2011) Annie Boyd (2011) Acadian (2012) Miller (2013) Evangeline/Louise Garig (2014) Herget (2015) McVoy (2016) ECA (2017)Recreational SportsNew Construction & Equipment, Fall 2004: Recreational Sports New Construction & Equipment, Fall 2004New River Road Field Complex: New River Road Field Complex 3 Sports Club Fields Support Building Parking Lot Fall 2004New Sand Volleyball Courts: New Sand Volleyball Courts OpenNew Outdoor Portable Climbing Wall: New Outdoor Portable Climbing Wall In UseNew Indoor Climbing Wall: New Indoor Climbing Wall Installed in racquetball court Rock climbing for all skill levels Fall 2004 Recreational Sports ComplexRenovation Update, Fall 2004: Recreational Sports Complex Renovation Update, Fall 2004Rec. Yet our academic programs take advantage of very little of this out-of-classroom learning and we recognize even less of it through our credit structures. A learning process that more intentionally integrates and recognizes student learning drawn from a range of student experiences can ensure that student learning gained in non-classroom settings is focused, reflective, and consistent with established learning outcomes (Change, July/Aug. 2003, p. 17).
