Russia and its drug situation : 

Russia and its drug situation - Population is estimated 143 million - About 6 million use narcotic drugs. 80% of them are dependent on opiates. - Out of 340 thousand officially registered HIV cases (unofficial estimates – up to 1.4 million). - 68% of new cases are in IDUs.

The effectiveness of drug treatment services is estimated as 7 to 10% at most. More than 73% of narcologists are nevertheless happy with the service quality :
