Kosovo Police Service School Mission statement Recruit, Select, Train Police Officers Establish indigenous police capability within Kosovo Establish the Kosovo Police Service Restore trust and confidence in law enforcement based in international standards of human rights.

Recruitment: 

Recruitment Men and women who reflect the ethnic diversity within Kosovo Minimum age 21, secondary education Residency in Kosovo Excellent physical condition, good moral character

Recruitment Tolerant of people of different ethnicity and religions Committed to protecting human rights Oral interviews, medical, psychological examinations Physical agility test Background investigation

OSCE Training Mandate: 

OSCE Training Mandate 3500 locally recruited students within 16 months Provide field training course Deliver 750 Field Training Officers Provide supervisory & management training course for 700 officers selected from KPS

Training Aim: 

Training Aim 20% women 10% - 15% minority

OSCE Basic Training Course: 

OSCE Basic Training Course 308 actual training hours 34 hours per week over 9 weeks 19 weeks of field training with UNMIK police officer 80 hours advanced classroom training Conducted in English, translated in Albanian and Serbian
