Om. Oh bhagavAn, may this salutation be unto you, Lord of the universe, the great God, one who is three-eyed, the destroyer of the states of Tripura, one who pervades the fire and light of sandhyA (when the three fires are lit), the Rudra that is the fire that consumes the universe, the blue-necked one, the conqueror of death, the Lord of all, the ever auspicious one. Salutations unto the glorious great Lord.

O Lord of the three worlds; Father*; one who holds gangA in his locks, destroyer (of ignorance)| *sambhu = parent or progenitor
Lord of the celestials (Devas); greatest of all Gods, consort of the daughter of the mountain king (GirijA); bestower of auspiciousness|
Love of the shining Goddess (Gowri); adorned by serpents; Lord of (and meditated upon by) the seven Rishis|
Embodiment of sAmavEdA; wielding the fiery third eye (of realization) which destroys ignorance or agjnAna|
O merciful refuge of the weak; One who resides on the banks of the confluence of the five sacred rivers; deign to bestow your grace on me, Lord who is the relative of the weak and orphaned!|
O Lord who graced rAgavA*; consort of umA; grant me devotion at your feet!|| *rAmA’s IshvarA

The Linga that is worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, and all the Devas; the Linga that is pure of speech and is radiant/effulgent; the Linga that destroys the sorrow arising out of birth; to that ever-auspicious Linga, my prostrations. ||1||

The Linga that is worshipped by the guru of the Devas and the elite among the devas; the Linga that is worshipped with flowers culled from the celestial gardens; the Linga that is higher than the highest and represents the supreme Self; to that ever-auspicious Linga, my prostrations. ||8||
