Purpose: 

Purpose To assess the status of our understanding of the combined Sun-Heliosphere system. To identify key challenges and disagreements in this field of research. To look forward and discuss how, through the anticipated new observations and advanced theoretical models, breakthroughs can occur in this field.

Timeliness : 

Timeliness There has been major progress through new observations or models. This is the first Solar Wind conference since start of LWS it its current form. This is the last Solar Wind conference before STEREO. Most of the modern heliospheric questions/issues involve more than just the traditional heliospheric community.
