Chinese Astronomical Society History On October 30th 1922, the Chinese Astronomical Society was founded in Beijing. Under the influence of the "May the 4th Movement" 1st Presidents: Gao Lu, Cai Yuanpei The Chinese Astronomical Society became an adhering member orgnization of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1935.
