What is it? A much-improved web gateway for access to Herald, the University E-mail system

Why the upgrade?: 

Why the upgrade? User feedback requested many changes Interface was out-dated and hard to use Needed to be more intuitive and in line with other Webmail systems Increasing volumes of E-mail (and SPAM) called for more advanced handling tools.

Reply Headers: 

Reply Headers This header is important – it helps mail programs keep track of message threads.

Message Searching: 

Message Searching More advanced features Can Modify and Refine Useful for finding messages from a person Useful for getting rid of big messages

Mail Filtering: 

Mail Filtering Whitelist prevents messages ever being filtered Blacklist makes messages get discarded before ever being delivered Spam thresholds Save in junk-mail Discard without saving

Vacation: 

Vacation Doesn’t reply to mailing lists with Precdence: Bulk header Only replies once to each recipient for each time activated

Forwarding: 

Forwarding Automatic forwarding on arrival Useful if you will be on a different E-mail system or want to forward to a colleague Not the same as forwarding a message manually Only messages that get through the filters are forwarded (i.e. would have been delivered to the INBOX)
