My 5 Rules of Life

Slide 2:

1. Be open to change your beliefs & point of view Learning is a life long journey Don’t take things as given. Question & ask

Slide 3:

2. Listen to your Heart The greatest cause of stress, anxiety, depression and stagnation arises from the conflict between mind and heart. Our heart might be calling us to follow our true purpose but our mind might be over-cautious and analytical thus pulling us away in another direction.

Slide 4:

3. Take Responsibility Taking responsibility means , above other things, understanding that all things are interconnected and you are plugged in the web of life Every action you take has consequences. You are not cut off or isolated Recognize that no one will bring forth your dreams and goals on a silver plate. You are responsible to take charge of your life .

Slide 5:

4. Forget, Forgive, Rejoice. Some people carry hurtful feelings or grudges for years. This is like holding an open wound without ever healing it. When you look into why it is that grudges and resentment are so common, you find that it is because people take things too personally and subjectively. The secret to forgetting, forgiving and rejoicing life in the face of adversity is by looking at things from a more detached and less personal point of view.

Slide 6:

5. Things are impermanent ` Don’t attach yourself to things. This is hard to come by especially n such a materialistic age. We are brought up to view possessions as valuable and stable points of reference When we shift our perspective towards the larger picture of life, we realize that all things come and go, including the people in our lives. When we attach ourselves to things, events, people, ideas or our own identity, we cause ourselves to suffer when those things go missing. Learning not to attach to things means breaking free from the tyranny of thought and desire. It is the ultimate human liberation.
