Mrs. Herrera happened to be walking by, and she opened the first book on the top of the pile. To her surprise, the book was magical. By Mrs. Ferral and Mrs. Martin’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

There was a unicorn that suddenly appeared who said, “Hello, Lincoln Elementary School! It’s good to be here!” By Mrs. Musca’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

“Would you like to take a ride?” asked the unicorn. They all shouted, “Hooray!” then flew around Lincoln School. After their flight, he flew into the book! By Mrs. Brown’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Just then, Mr. Anderson saw the bright, yellow, glowing book in the hallway. He put on his shades and slowly picked up the magical book and started to read it. As he started to read, the kids jumped out. By Mrs. Vivian’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Mr. Anderson was very surprised and said, “Welcome to Lincoln School!” He then invited them to explore school. While exploring, they bumped into the mascot, the Lincoln Raider. By Miss Rosander’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Next, the mascot said, “What’s up?” Then he said, “Let me take you to a Raiders game!” The students asked, “What is a Raiders game?” The big game at Lincoln is called Reading Counts! By Mrs. Sudderth’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Reading Counts is so much fun that you can take quizzes. All you have to do is go to the computer lab and sign in. When you’re doing the Reading Counts, the Raider will come out and give you an autographed football. After he gives you the football, he goes back to wherever he came from originally. By Mrs. Kelly’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

However, before the mascot leaves, he has one more exciting job to do. The Lincoln mascot must reward the class with the most Reading Counts points. That awesome class filled with amazing readers wins a fabulous party. The party includes delicious pepperoni and cheese pizza, takis , soda and cheesy nachos. By Mrs. Gonzalez’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

At the Reading Counts party, the Lincoln Raider mascot brought the magical book. The glowing book opened and out popped Greg Heffleg , Scooby Doo and Captain Underpants. They all started rapping, “Lincoln Raiders are good at reading, through the book they are speeding. They are having so much fun and their time at school has just begun!” Greg, Scooby Doo, Captain Underpants and the Lincoln students all started to dance the sprinkler dance. By Mrs. Johnson’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Greg, Scooby Doo, and Captain Underpants accidentally bumped the fire alarm which turned on the sprinklers. Scooby Doo yelled, “The Magical Book! We have to save it!” Just then, the unicorn jumped out of the wet book and called for the helicopter. “Quick, everyone! We have to get to the chopper to take the Magical Book to the desert to dry!” By Mrs. McAllister’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

No one moved until suddenly Arnold Schwarzenegger parachuted from the sky screaming, “Get to the choppah !” That motivated all the students to start running for the Magic School Helicopter (because it was bigger on the inside). Mr. Anderson grabbed the dripping wet magical book and threw it like Tim Lincecum right into the safety of the helicopter. By Mrs. Dunbar’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

As the helicopter lifted off the ground, everyone heard Arnold calling out, “You’ll be back!” If the students had known what incredible creature was waiting for them in the desert, they might have wished Arnold’s words had come true more quickly … By Mrs. Dunbar’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Then the Lincoln students waved to Arnold who was on the ground and told the pilot to fly to the desert fast! They were in a desperate hurry to arrive and dry the sacred pages of the magical book. The chopper was so loud, the pilot thought the students said, “Take us to the dessert,” so he did. He took them to … The Desert of the Dessert! When they landed, they saw a desert kingdom full of yummy desserts ruled by an incredible, 50-foot gummy bear king! By Mrs. Arp’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

The Gummy Bear King welcome the Lincoln Raider students, and he said, “State your business.” “We need your magical desert heat to save our book. Oh wise Gummy Bear King, may we load lots of your wonderful desserts to take back to share with our friends at Lincoln School? By Mr. Baker’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

The King agreed and, at last, the Magical Book was saved! The students headed back to Lincoln, but then disaster struck. When the students flew over the Lincoln Pool, all of the Mentos they had taken from the Gummy Bear King fell overboard into the pool, which just happened to be full of soda! And it exploded! By Mr. Baker’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

And the book got wet again! It was a horrible disaster because after the helicopter dropped the kids off, it left! “How are we supposed to dry it now?” asked all of the students. Luckily, the magical unicorn came back and asked why everyone looked so sad. They told it that the magical book got wet and it said, “No worries, I’ll get it dry in no time!” By Mr. Hayashino’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

It dried the magical book with its horn. Everything was all right now. Or was it? The kid who was holding the book noticed it began to glow again and he disappeared along with the book … By Mr. Hayashino’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

“How could this happen?” asked the students. “We have worked hard to save our book and improve our Reading Counts!” Suddenly, Lincoln’s fearless principal Mr. Anderson announced over the intercom, “Everyone should have no fears! I will return the magical book after the Giants baseball game tonight!” By Mr. Mehring’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Just then, Mr. Anderson warped through a port hole in his office closet at 2:00 p.m. to watch the big game three – the San Francisco Giants against the Washington Nationals. Soon, out marched Brandon Belt, Lou Seal, Crazy Crab and the unicorn to present the preserved magical book to the principal to give back to Lincoln. By Mr. Mehring’s Class

PowerPoint Presentation:

Mr. Anderson announced at the assembly the next day that, “Lincoln Rocks at Reading Counts! I hope all the Lincoln classes will keep improving their reading for great things to come in the future!” By Mr. Mehring’s Class
