Project Description : 

Project Description The objective of this project is to build a client and server based system to track the UCSD shuttles along their respective routes. The client resides in the mobile phone and server resides in Java based web server. The system will be deployed in a field setting, demonstrating the availability of the position and multimedia data in real-time.

Statement of Work: 

Statement of Work Program the Motorola V710 to give its location and send picture data without physical interaction. Determine a way to transmit a signal to prompt the phone to give its location. The updated location of the phone will be determined by phone limitations. Set phone wireless protocols so that the server can receive and process the information sent to it. Conduct field trials. Install system on campus shuttle.

Hardware Details: 

Hardware Details The Motorola V710 was chosen for its GPS capabilities. Uses CDMA technology to carry data. Interacts well with Brew SDK 2.0 First Verizon phone to allow camera phone to interact with Brew.

Software Details: 

Software Details Visual Studio 6.0 is the IDE used to compile and run Brew SDK 2.0 code. Brew SDK 2.0 is the application used to program the cell phone to perform various functions. Cell phone emulator allows us to run code in a simulated environment.
